Having made a name for ourselves in Perak at UTP with our disposable plates and bowls for Hari Raya, the stage was next set in Teluk Intan. Yes, going green has turned into a habitual convenience these days. The Hari Raya celebration catered to approximately 5000 people, and the event organiser wanted it to be a Green Celebration. How? How the Teluk Intan Community Embraces Sustainable Dinnerware?
There is no shortage of variety when it comes to Hari Raya delicacies. Think of lontong, lemang, satay, roti john, laksa and fried noodles. With most of these dishes being on the saucy side, disposable plates had to be durable. The host knew our sugarcane plates would easily get the job done, having seen our previous events – eco plates for Thaipusam and bio lunch boxes at FAMA event.
Heat-Resistant Bowls Impress with Laksa and Lontong
Guests were able to carry the hot food, particularly laksa, with ease, thanks to the sturdy build and heat-resistant design of the 350ml and 500ml biodegradable bowls. The heat did not transfer to the fingers of the guests, highlighting the quality of the material used. This feat is non-achievable with plastic bowls. And yes, there is no overlooking our wooden disposable fork. Simple, sleek and sustainable – casually pairs with any disposable dinnerware on offer.
Biodegradable Disposable Plates for the Mains
Look at the clean finish of the biodegradable disposable plates. Built with a strong rim and thick base, the 9 inch plate does not dent or collapse under weight. Even during the event, guests could refill with the same plate. Made from sugarcane and unbleached, the light brown colour calls up a natural finish. Meanwhile, there are no worries when serving hot and oily food.
As important as it is to eat food that is not harmful, it’s equally important to serve it on safer dinnerware. The last thing you want is harmful plastic leeching onto the food and entering your body. This Hari Raya event in Teluk Intan, Perak is another positive approach to sustainability in Malaysia.
