What is Bagasse?

With the desire to go greener and for superior quality packaging, many restaurateurs are adopting a more sustainable approach. Thankfully, bagasse is a great solution. In the most general term, sugarcane is squeezed for juice to produce sugar and the leftover is kept.
Bagasse is a byproduct left over from sugar refining with sugarcane as the core material. It is the fibre that is left after the sugar is produced, also known as agricultural waste. With the production of disposable plates and lunch boxes, this waste serves a better (greener) purpose. As such, bagasse food packaging is a more renewable alternative to plastic.
No Material Shortage to Produce the Lunch Box

A clear advantage of disposable bagasse containers is the quick growth of sugarcane, as the reproduction cycle spans less than a year. Therefore, these eco-friendly containers are less likely to experience supply shortages and are great for long-term planning. According to the World Bank, the global production volume of sugarcane in 2021 reached 1.85 billion tons in a production cycle as short as 12-18 months.
Microwave Friendly Disposable Lunch Box

Reheating food in plastic and polystrene containers is very harmful. Toxic chemicals like BPA and PFAS are said to leach into food when placed in a microwave oven. Nevertheless, reheating food in a bagasse lunch box does not leak chemicals. Also, this food box holds its structural stability since it’s relatively thicker than paper lunch boxes. No surprise that our disposable lunch boxes are a firm favourite at hospitals.
Increase Your Brand Image with Eco Consciousness

Many consumers appreciate businesses that support green initiatives. Plastic and polystrene wastes pollute the environment and destroy the habitats of land and sea occupants. We at Green Eco Paradise have previously worked with the Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP) and schools to increase public awareness about eco friendly lunch boxes. Consumers are increasingly learning about recycling and other sustainable solutions related to food packaging.
We hope our bio lunch boxes will make a change in your kitchen and the environment. Get the food containers today, along with our eco fork and spoon, and you shall never regret.
