Penang’s food scene is highly sought-after and food festivals have further upped the excitement. Across the island and mainland, the food events have been drawing over a huge crowd of both locals and tourists.
The gastronomical celebration has always been steeped with flavours and authenticity, but another winning point is the usage of eco-friendly disposable food packaging products. Apart from the food, patrons do appreciate how they are served with minimal signs of plastic. On par with the global call to fend off plastic and polystyrene packaging, the food capital of Malaysia has decided to set an example too. People are very keen to be part of a healthier lifestyle and ensure Mother Nature is well taken care of. Two factors that downright determine our future.
Our biodegradable lunch box has been our best seller, followed by our 9″ and 10″ biodegradable plates. These items are made from paddy straw, hence the colour ranges between beige and brown. From roasted meats to the in-famous tauhu bergedil, assorted rice dishes and more, the lunch box gets the job done, while our bio plates have been staying strong to the test of gravy dishes and greasy noodles. Biodegradable bowls, paper bowls and paper tray are other on-the-go favourites too.
Another sight to behold during events was visitors walking around with armloads of paper bags, which come in various sizes. Pastries and puffs slid conveniently into the smaller food-grade paper bags and the larger ones make takeaways an easy task. Our paper straws and wooden cutlery are showing no signs of slowing down as well. The wooden fork, spoon and knife can be paired with a variety of dishes and there’s no such thing as snapping up in the middle of a meal.
On the other hand, paper straws have been gaining positive responses for its functionally and eye-catching appearance. Diameters include 6mm, 8mm and 12mm. From juices to bubble tea and everything in between, you can always select a proper paper straw.
Speaking of beverage, there’s no missing out on our paper cups. Both the cold and hot drinks are commonly paired with our juice paper cups and double-wall hot cup respectively.
Amidst the convivial atmosphere and appetite-evoking food preparations, the goal of going green has fit in effortlessly. It’s a joy to recognise that using eco-friendly packaging is no longer a mere afterthought, rather a responsibility together.
